Scores ol these ancient monuments are receiving attention under Government supervision. They include the famous Tynemouth Castle, Byland Abbey, Rievaulx Abbey, Scarborough Castle, Easbv Abbey and Dunstanburgh Abbey. Much work has been dona on Hadrian's Wall.
