One nf the most "bullish" demonstrations in recent history occurred on the New ork Stock Exchange. Stocks climbed over six points as the result of heavy public buying and growing optimism about the labour situation in the steel and other industries. Brokers also reported a large increase in foreign buying. United States Steel. Allied Chemical, and Chrysler were among the stocks which made notable gains, although the list as a whole responded to the improvement. FRESH TROUBLE. Ultimatum to Longshoremen's Association. SAN FRANCISCO RECURRENCE. SAX FRANCISCO, March 4. Fresh shipping trouble is threatened at San Francisco. The president of th« Waterfront Employers' Associat ion. Ml Plant, yesterday presented an ultimatum to the local Longshoremen's Association to the effect that unless work is resumed on the coastal steamer Rochelle this morning the employers will suspend relations with the longshoremen. This action would mean closing the port. The Rochelle has been delayed since February 23 owing to a dispute over jurisdiction between the unions. JAPAN'S HONOURS. BRITISH KING AND QUEEN. (Received lli noon.) 1 OKYO. March 4. The Emperor has decided to give the highest decorations in the Japanese Empire to the British King and Queen on the occasion of their Coronation. The King will receive the collar of the Supreme Order of the Chrysanthemum and his Queen first-class status of thel Imperial Order of the Precious Crown. I
