At the weekly sale of Ceylon tea held on March 2. 1,700.0001b was placed under offer. Quality of a number of grades offered at the auction was in the main unchanged. Others were rather better and more suitable for New Zealand requirements. There was a strong general demand, commons, low mediums and fine sorts being dearer. Actual price alterations showed an increase of *4d per lb on first classic broken Pekoes and fine broken orange Pekoes, and an ad value of ■id per 11) on common*, price broken orange Pekoes and plain 8.0.P.'5.
