WIDOW AWARDED DAMAGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Tn the Supreme Court. Eliza Smart, widow, claimed £21>7 14/3 special and £1700 general damages against Leslie Charles Morrison, taxi proprietor, and James Miller Pointon. taxi driver, 011 the ground that her lmslrand's death was due to Pointon's negligence in failing to avoid him. The defence denied that death was due to the accident, and also questioned items in the claim for particular damages. The jury awarded £270 10/ special damages and £0.'?7 general damages.
