New Appointments to Royal
Household.
NEW ZEALANDER INCLUDED. British Official Wireless. (Received 11 a.m.) RUGBY, March 3. A long list of appointments to the King's household is gazetted. Among the principal are the following: — Lord Chamberlain: The Earl of Cromer (reappointed). Lord Steward: The Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry. Master of the Horse: The Duke of Beaufort. Treasurer of the Household: Sir George Penny (reappointed).
Comptroller of the Household: Sir Lambert Ward. Vice-Chamberlain of the Household: Sir George Da vies. Private secretary: Major Alexander Hardinge. Assistant private secretaries: Messrs. P. H. Mitchell and A. F. Laecelles and Sir Eric Melville.
Keeper of the King's archives: Lord tVigram (formerly private secretary). Keeper of the Privy Purse: Major Click Alexander. Financial secretary to ♦he Kin-r: Mr. F. P. Robinson. High Almoner: The Archbishop of Canterburv.
Prebendary Arelivilre rs appointed Precentor of the Chapels Royal. I'nder the heading of the medical household there are '.i~> appointments headed by Lord Dawson of Penn. Lord Horder, Sir John Weir and Sir Maurice C'assidv.
The Karl of Athlone is to be Constable and Governor of Windsor Castle. Mr. John Masefield continues to be Poet Laureate.
The appointments include the New Zealand Olympic representative. Dr. Arthur Porritt, surgeon to the household, and nn Australian, Sir Thomas Dunhill, also surgeon.
