PONSONBY CLUB GALA DAY.
The Ponsonby Bowling Club have a novelty tourney set down for Saturday afternoon next. To show their appreciation of the continuous and generous support of the I'onsonby Boys' Band, the club have decided to donate the proceeds of the tourney to its funds, and a generous nui>porter of the club. Mr. l>. L. Coldwater. has donated the prizes. Tho band will also be in attendance, and will render selections.
WHANGAREI TOURNAMENT.
(By Telegraph-—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI. Wednesday. The Whangarri Bowling Club commenced a full-rink tournament last evening under electric light, when 10 full rinks took part. Two rounds each of one hour and a half's play were completed last evening and on Tuesday' evening next the tournament will be completed, when a further two rounds will be played. The weather was fine nt the commencement of play, but light showers fell before the second round was finished. The rinks skipped respectively by Wnitelaw and Wilding, of Whangarei, and Cox. of Portland, secured two wins. The following are the results of the evening's play :—First round : Beaton, Brydon.
