LANDS MINISTER.
TOUR OF INSPECTION. EAST COAST—BAY OF PLENTY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Wednesday. It has now definitely been arranged that the Minister of Lands, the Hon. F. Langetone, shall visit the Wairoa, (iisborne, Bay of Plenty,» Tauranga and East Coast districts early this month. The visit has been arranged by Sir Apirana Ngata and Messrs. (i. Hultquist and C. H. Burnett. M.IYs. Sir Apirana will join the party at Ruatoki on Tuesday, March 16. Mr. Hultquist will travel through the Bay of Plenty electorate with the Minister, and Mr. Burnett will accompany him through the Tauranga electorate.
Mr. Langstone will be accompanied by Mr. Robertson, Under-Secretary of Lands, Mr. Mulligan, his private secretary, and Mr. Balneavis, secretary to the Native Minister.
The following itinerary has been arranged:—Monday, Bth. leave Wellington for Wairoa. Thursday. 11th, leave Gisborue 8 a.m.; arrive Opotiki 5 p.m. Friday, leave Opotiki 8 a.m., meet deputation at Opotiki end of Wainui deviation at 9 a.m.j visit Oihope Beach,
inspect native bueh and proceed to Tauranga where deputations will be received in the afternoon and evening. Saturday. leave for Te Puke and Wailii swamp, and return to Tauranga for lunch; afternoon, visit Katikati Domain. Sunday. inspection of the Kaitimako (Tauranga) native development scheme, and visit Mount Maunganui and Tauranga Domain, later proceeding to Te Puke. Monday, loth, visit Maketu and meet natives; lunch at Matata. later inspecting Onepu and Tarawera (small farm) and Waiohaii (native) blocks before proceeding to Wliakatane. On the same day the Kangitiki drainage ratepayers will bo met. Tuesday, deputations from » a.m. to 11 a.m. Leave Whakatane at II a.m. for Huatnki. thence to Waimana where the Minister will meet natives. Arrive at Opotiki at 9 p.m. From Opotiki the Minister will visit the coastal districts, leaving Xapier on Monday. March 22.
