CORONATION DAY.
POSITION OF SCHOOLS. ADDRESS TO PUPILS. A qupMion was asked at the meetinp of tlie Education Board vesterday as to what would happen at the schools on Coronation Day. A memorandum from the Department of Education showed that the first term would end on. but would include, Coronation Day, May 12. The chairman. Mr. T. U. Wells, said he understood that there would be a special ceremony at the schools, and the pupil.- would be addressed and probably pent home early. The arrangements were a matter for the Department. However, if what he had stated was the intention, it would preclude any demonstration in the Domain which had been suggested by the Mayor of Auckland. Such a demonstration, Mr. Wells emphasised, necessitated preliminary training of the children.
