It may be explained that the Dannevirke Racing Club, owinjr to the financial position, ceased to function, and the Minister of Internal Affairs., when approached by a deputation from the new club on the <|uestion of totalisator permits, informed them that the new club must make arrangement* with the old club and "put its hoii-e in order." In other words, that the new scheme must have the convent of every guarantor of the bank overdraft of the Dannevirke Racing Club. 'Hie guarantors of that club, bavin;; declined to meet a deputation from the new club, the latter decided to discontinue it* efforts, notwithstanding it hud over tfOO members and was in a position to commence racing.
