WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the " Auckland BUr " this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia ana Hamilton:— Moderate to strong southerly winds, reaching gale force at times in exposed positions. Weather, cold and changeable, with some scattered showers, but improving and mainly fine. Seas, rather rough to rough on the west coast and moderate on the east. There has been a rapid fall of pressure to the east, while an intense anti-cyclone, which has been centred for some daya over Tasmania, haa extended eastward across the Taaman Sμ. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— Moderate to strong aoutherliea, to gale at times in exposed positions. Weather, probably cold and changeable, with scattered showers, but improving. The barometer has a rising tendency. Seas, moderate to rather rough. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, south-west, fresh; sea, moderate; weather, tine, with scattered clouds; visibility, good; barometer, rising.
