OUTDOOR ROMANCE.
NEW FILM FOR MAJESTIC
Romance in the great outdoors is the keynote of entertainment embodied in the virile iilm "Orphan of the Wilderness,' , which is to be released to-morrow at the Majestic- Theatre. Australia, in making talking pictures, has always concentrated upon placing her Rieatest asset*—her magnificent "outback'"—upon the screen, and this policy is followed with great success in "Orphan of the Wilderness." Nor is it such a wilderness that forms the background of most of the story. Deserts come and «o in the film but principally it is *et against lovely bush backgrounds, impressive mountain country and peaceful nettled ureas.
Animals play a large pait in the film but are subordinated to the human acting ingredients. One particularly thrilling sequence depicts a battle between a giant emu and an "old man" red kangaroo. Snakes, dingoes, koalas and other members of Australia's varied and colourful bush life are glimpsed in the picture, which features the two representative
"Search for Beauty" winners of two years ago. Brian Abbott and Gweii Munro. The leading lady will be remembered by Aucklanders for her stage appearance not long ago with George ThirlwelFs "Wind and the Rain" company. She remembers New Zealand as the only country in which she has seen a really honest-to-goodness ghoet!
The Majestic is also screening the newrelease "Alibi for Murder," in which William Gargan and Marguerite Churchill are stars. It is stated to be as neatlycompiled a murder mystery as the screen has presented for many moons.
