New Liner for Sydney to
Vancouver Run?
DOMINIONS AT VARIANCE,
tnited Trese Association.—Copyright.
(Received 12 noon.) LONDON, February 26. The Australian Associated Press •is informed that no Dominion has replied to the British Government's proposals arising from the Imperial Shipping Committee's report. From this it is understood Britain is ready to guarantee a loan with the co- ! operation of the Dominions for building a new liner for the Sydney-Vancouver service and reconstructing the Aorangi ■ and Niagara, also building a new liner for the Vancouver-Tokyo service and existing vessels. The Dominions desired a British loan 'to build two new liners for the Svdneyaneouvtr run, but Britain regards one :new liner as sufficient, at least until 'experience with the reorganised service :1b known. _ The fact that some weeks have elapsed since the proposals reached the Dominions has created the impression here that the Dominions are disappointed.
