The Ponsonby branch of the Women's Christian Tem)>erance Union held its annual cradle roll afternoon in St. John's Methodist Hal) on Thursday afternoon. Miss Read, president, presided, and welcomed the mothers and children, of which there was a pood gathering. Songs and recitations were contributed bv some of the children and an elocutionary item given by one of the mothers. Mrs. A. L. Lewis also sang "Mother Macliree." Mrs. Williams, district superintendent for Little White Ribboners, initiated three more children and received them as Little White Ribboners. Miss Warren, the cradle roll superfntendent. entertained the children with games, etc., and presented each child with a balloon and a paper cap. The mothers were entertained at afternoon tea, and sweets and fruit were given to the children.
