BROKERS STILL BUSY. GAS SHARES IMPROVE. J BANK OF NEW ZEALAND 3 SLIP. Since last report there has been heavy trading or. '< with many price riuetuations and a generally healthy time. At this morning's call thcie was an easier tiend in Au.-tralian issues, doubtless due to profit-taking. .\ii instance ot tlie changing value.- was provided by Electro. Zincs, which sold this morning at £3 1 t>. a drop ot 2 t>. and later had transactions at £3 2,0 and £3 3 . In the banking section New South \\ ak>s sold cum dividend unchanged, at £36 10.', and were then quoted ex dividend i',36 5. and £3G It'.. New Zealands failed to maintain the full extent of ■he recent rise and sold od lowei, at £2 1 6, with more available at that figure and buyers back to £2 4 . Auckland Gas shares showed marked improvement with a sale at £1 2/'. and a later market between £1 1 and £1 2 ti. Sanfords. too, made further headway, with a transaction at f> 3. after which buyers remained hi at j.', and sellers withdrew. Government stocks were not in keen request, but- a. parcel of "46-49's was placed o/ higher, at £103 5/. Waihis Advance. At the noon call there were further changes in Australian securities. Broken Hills. Electro. Zincs and G. J. Coles having higher quotations, but with no business resulting. Mount Lyells were unchanged at £2 15/, but British Tobaccos eased 1/, with a sale at £2 11 9. Dominion issues were fairly steady at late rates, but Dominion Breweries, rights, were easier with sales 6d down, at 9,9, and b iyers for the ordinary shares dropped back 6d, to £1 18/6. For New Zealand Breweries also buyers were lower at £2 19/3. Tv . The . re c e iit sharp rise in quotations for \\ aihi Investments was reflected in a sale 1/4 higher, at 14/6, and anions; Australian "I 1 " 1 ?? shares Rawann Tins showed a rise of 2/ in business at 13/6.
