WORKS SCHEMES.
ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD. STAFF NOT ADEQUATE? "It appears that we have not sufficient staff and tiiat the work is being allowed to pile up," said Mr. A. H. Mclntyre at a meeting of the Ellerslie Town Board last evening, when it was proposed that the hoard should augment its permanent outdoor staff to cope with the increasing amount of work. When certain work schemes were advanced the foreman said that if the work was to be put in hand at an earlydate the transfer of staff would hold up other work. Mr. McTiKyre added that recently the hoard had repeatedly been given similar reports by the foreman. He suggested that the foreman should he requested to report on the adequacy of the staff. It was decided to adopt the suggestion and to consider the special report with the estimates. The board also resolved to confine its district housing survey to the brick building area, which embraces the main shopping area and residences fronting the Ellerslie highway between the raiN way station and Amy Street. On the girmnds that a survey was not necessary, Messrs. S. Sonierfield and J. J. Toy recorded their dissent.
