NEW HOME SOUGHT.

TENNIS CLUB'S REQUEST. DEPUTATION' AT MOUNT EDEN". A deputation from the Balmoral Tennis Club waited upon the Mount Eden Borough ('-•unci! last evening and said that the time had come for the club to have a permanent home. The deputation asked the council to put down lour courts on council property at the foot of St. Alban'n Avenue, or lease tht: land to the club at a nominal rental. It was stated that the club had been established 10 years and had 70 members. Mr. E. R. Greenfield said that it would be a sound business proposition to lay down the courts and rent*them. Mr. C. Cowan considered that it was not the council's function to provide facilities for a prvate club. It would be better to sell the Innd at a low price to the club and let the club improve it. It was decided to get a report from the parks committee and chairman of , the finance committee.
