OFFICER TRANSFERRED.

THE LABOUR DEPARTMENT.

Mr. G. F. Grieve, LL.B., senior inspector and inspector of awards, Labour Department, Auckland, has received advice of his promotion to the position of officer in charge of the Labour Department, Dunedin, in succession to Mr. G. Lightfoot, who has retired on account of ill-health. Mr. Grieve will be succeeded in Auckland by Mr. C. P. Smith, at present senior inspector at New Plymouth.

Mr. Grieve joined the Department 20 years ago after serving in France in the Great War. He came to Auckland 12 years ago and succeeded Mr. J. Hollows as senior inspector.
