(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, thie day.

Colin Charles Martin, who was fined by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday morning on a charge of playing crown and anchor at the Waihi Show on Saturday, was- again before the Court early last evening, this time being charged with assaulting a Maori from Bowentown.

Constable Pattereon, jvho witnessed the assault, which took place in a street, said the affair commenced in a hotel. Martin asked the Maori for some money, and when the Maori refused to give it "pinched" hie beer. Martin was arrested after the assault and was lodged in the lock up.
