CONCILIATION DISPUTE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", Tuesday. More than 150 application* received for exemption from the operation of the award were lodged when the dispute between the Wellington, Taranaki, Nelson and Marlborough Enginedrivors and Their Assistants' Industrial Union of Workers, and Bonde Hosiery Mille (W.Z.), Limited, and other employers listed opened to-day before the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. M. J. Reardon. Among the partiee who applied for exemption from the operation of the award, either wholly or partially, were freezing works and cool store*, dairy! factories, hospital boards, private railways and tramways, city councils and harbour boards. The applieante claimed a 40-hour week and wajrefi ran<>in;r from £."> I~>/ to £0 10/ a week, while tho employers. in counter-proposals, asked fur a' 44hour week and wapes ranging from 15/0 a day to 2/4 an hour.
