HOSPITAL BREAD.

MASTER BAKKRS' POSITION. Mr. S. S. Green, secretary of the Auckland Master Bakers' Association, said to-day that he wished definitely to dissociate members of bis association from the charges made in connection with the bread supply to the Auckland Hospital. He contended that it was impossible for high quality bread to be supplied at the price at present paid by the Hospital Board.

■ "The present method of competition on price alone, in a matter of a fundamental food supply to the hospital, can only lead to either inferior quality or short-weight supplies," added Mr. Green. (A report of the Hospital Board discussion appears on page 11.)
