ST. MARY'S BAY.
BOAT HARBOUR PLANS. WO UK TO BE COMPLETED. The completion of the St. Mary's Bay Ixiat harbour was discussed by the Auckland Harbour Board in committee yesterday, and the work planned was authorised. This decision was con tinned in open meeting. According to previous discussions the cost of the work will be in the vicinity of £32.000, and a grant from the Employment Promotion Fund is likely to amount to £10,000. The Harbour Board will have to find the balance, £22,000. The scheme provides for the building of a viaduct over the Shelly Beach Reef to connect with a 40ft roadway which is to be constructed along the existing protecting wall as far as the gap in the centre. Inside this roadway will be hauling-out sitee, small jetties, sheds and clnbhouses. Tramways are to be laid down for winter and mid-season overhauls. The spoil for the roadway will be obtained by dredging the 215 acres of the boat harbour, which will provide accommodation for approximately 670 boats.
