PERSONALS.

Mr. D. Henry arrived in Auckland this morning by train from Wellington.

Mr. P. Landells will leave Auckland by the Limited to-morrow for Wellington.

Mr. James Fletcher returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. C. M. Eichwhite returned to Auckland to-day after visiting the Hawke's Bay district. Captain I. G. Glennie returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. Justice Fair will preside at the Supreme Court sessions which open at Hamilton on Tuesday. Mr. B. Coulter, M.P. for Waikato, will join the Limited for Wellington at Hamilton to-morrow night.

Mr. Justice Smith will leave Wellington to-morrow to preside at the Supreme Court sessions at Wanganui.

Dr. A. Smith Gray, who has been in England for some time, has returned to Auckland.

Mr. Francis E. Hunt, of the National Bank of New Zealand, has arrived in Auckland from Wellington, on transfer.

Mr. C. Bland, superintendent of traffic for the Auckland City Council, returned this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. W. J. Holdswortli, chairman of the Auckland Electric Power Board, returned to Auckland this morning from Wellington. Mr. R. E. Champtaloup, touring manager of the Automobile Association, returned to Auckland this morning by train from the South. Mr. A. J. Ridler, controller of employment, who has been visiting Auckland in connection with the placement service business, returned to Wellington yester-, day. Lieutenant-Commander Lean, whose term of service on the New Zealand station has ended, will leave Wellington for England by the Remuera on Thursday.

Captain T. J. Watts, secretary and advisory superintendent of the United Fire Brigades' Association, returned to Auckland this morning after a short visit to the South.

Lieutenant-Commander E. W. Monekton, who will replace Lieutenant-Com-mander J. T. Lean, of H.M.S. Philomel, arrived from London by the Rangitiki yesterday.

Tlie Minister of Justice, the Hon. H. 0. R. Mason, returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited. He has been on a tour of inspection of Court buildings on the West Coast of the South Island.

Dr. Malcolm 11. Burns lias been appointed soil chemist at Canterbury Agricultural College. After passing through Kiingiora High .School and Canterbury College. Dr. Burns has had extensive training in England and America. He is at present ill America, where he lias been studying at Cornell , University.
