fOR INTER-COLONIAL TRADE.

DEPARTURE FROM COLOMBO.

En route from England to New Zealand, the new motor ship Port Tauranga, the latest addition to the fleet of the Wachlin Line, is reported to have cleared Colombo yesterday for Lyttelton, where she is* due on March 14. Thence she is to come to Auckland via Wellington, arriving here about the end of .March, after which she is to enter the intercolonial trade.

In a cable received this morning by the local agents, the Northern Steam' Ship Company, Captain A. F. Wachlin, who is bringing the vessel out, stated that she had loaded on the West Coast of India. When fully laden the vessel attained a speed of eleven knots, with the engines turning over at 30 revolutions a minute less than their maximum speed.
