AUSTRALIANS NOT COMING. VISIT TO N.Z. DECLINED. MISSES DE LACY AND GREEN. PERTH, February 12. The Australian women swimmers, Mioses Evelyn rte Lacy and Dorothy Green, announce that they cannot accept tlie invitation to visit New Zealand at this late stage, and they are advising the New Zealand Swimming Association accordingly. It was announced on December 20 that the New Zealand Swimming. Association had invited Miss Evelyn de Lacy, the 220, 440, and 880 yards free-style Australian swimming champion, Miss Green, and one middle-distance male swimmer with an Australian title to tour the Dominion. After the Australian championships R. Newbigen, a juvenile champion, was named as the male swimmer to make the trip. Mr. J. R.i Miller, secretary of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, status that no direct advice has been received of cancellation of the tour. Before the trip had been postponed (owing to infantile paralysis restrictions), Miss de Lacy and Newbigen had accepted invitations, and negotiations had been proceeding for a visit from Miss Green, who had twice beaten the first-named in the Australian championships at Sydney. ■•OTAHUHU. CLUB'S RIVER RACE. • The Otahuhu Amateur Swimming club will hold' its annual river "race of I.J miles on Sunday inoruing over a measured course in, (lie Tamnkl Hlvor at Stringer's Point on the right rroin the War Memorial Monument at Otahuhu.
