AUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON
Home Team Preparing for Forthcoming Match.
The intei'provincial match between Auckland and Wellington women's teams is to be played at the Rcmuera Hockey Ground on Saturday, February 27.
This match is a challenge competition for the Amalgamated Theatres' Shield among the.women's' cricket associations of the North Island. The shield was retained by Wellington last year.
The Auckland eleven will be coached by Mr. A. Hurst, and Mr, W. J. Hindman, sports announcer of radio station IZM is eole selector. A keen match is anticipated, as the standard of cricket in both centres line improved considerably.
The following is a list of players selected for practice at the Domain on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Miss 15. Smythenmn, u good all-round player, will captain the Auckland eleven:—Misses N. Browne, K. Simmons, M. Siniinoiie, T. Bond, J. Riddolls, X. Hamnion.il, J. Koefoed, J, Webb, A. Beer, C. Lynch, M. Charter!*, H. Price, M. liainsford, A. Eaton and I. Adams.
