TALKS ADJOURNED.
Motor Dispute in United States Drags On. j I EMERGENCY STATUS AT FLINT, j XEW YORK, February 0. The conference at Detroit between the parties to the motor strike was adjourned early yesterday morning until j the evening. It is believed that at one j stage it was on the verge of collapsing when the representative of the General Motors Corporation expressed doubt that anything was likely to be accomplished and reiterated its determination not to be coerced into permitting the union to be the sole bargaining agency. It is stated that an offer of a secret ballot of all the employees on the latter question was rejected by the union. The City Commission at Flint has declared the existence of an emergency and lias voted to the Mayor. Mr. Bradshaw, the powers of a virtual dictator with complete control of 700 special policemen. An ironical fact is that Mr. **rad shaw is an employee of the Buick Com i pany.
