The Return of the Jiggle.
Original and Clever Work Received. An old favourite of Budgetites, a jiggle competition, made its reappearance in these pages recently, and the results are announced this week. The most important thing about a jiggle is that readers must clearly define in their entries just where the given example appears. In the majority of cases this rule was well adhered to, and many original and well-executed jiggles found their way into this office. Many of the sketches were decidedly on the humorous side, among them being the well-known Laurel and Hardy and Pop-Eye the Sailor. Bobby Leese, of Whangarei, conceived an original idea when he incorporated his jiggle in a prehistoric monster. Peggy Summerhays thought that the outline suggested an artist, complete with brush and pallette, and Pearl Oliver worked her jiggle into a very animated sketch of the everpopular Mickey Mouse. The following is the list of the twenty-four prize-winners:— Bobby Leese, Whangarei, age 13, monoplane kitset. Peggy Summerhays, Penrose, age 15, mouth organ.
