WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the " Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Moderate to fresh northerly winds, backing shortly to south-west. Weather, changeable, with rain at times. Temperatures are becoming cooler. Seas, slight to moderate, but rising on the west coast. A depression of considerable intensity covers the South Island and is moving eastward rather rapidly. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong northerlies, shortly backing to south-we: L The weather appears likely to be c.judy and unsettled, with intermittent rain probable. The barometer has a falling tendency, soon rising. Seas, smooth to moderate. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The follcwir.g report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritici Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north, moderate; sea, smooth; weather, fine, but cloudy; visibility, good; barometer, steady.
