MORE POPULATION.
A FIVE-MILLION GUOAL. LAUNCHING NEW MOVEMENT. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) • NAPIER, this day. The formation of an "organisation to be known as "The New Zealand Five Million Club," with the problem of immigration as its principal concern, is contemplated by the Hon. W. E. Barnard, M.P. for Napier and Speaker of the House of Representatives. It is intended that the movement shall be Dominion-wide in scope, and in the early stages will be operated from Napier. The principal objects of the club will be the study of immigration as a practicable proposal in New Zealand, and the preparation of a way for entry into New Zealand rind for satisfactory settlement of British citizens when planned immigration is resumed by the Government. Mr. Barnard intends to launch the movement at a public meeting be held in Napier this week, followed by a similar gathering at Hastings and at other lar gathering at Hastings and at other places throughout the Dominion. "I am hoping that the movement will be a really big one," he said to-day.
