Price states that Gold Rod ie not starting in the Newmarket Handicap, and will be reserved for the short weight-for-age races. He will run in the St. George Stakes at vCaulfield next Saturday. Cuddle, who was lame last week,, ie showing- great improvement. She will probably also take her place in the St. George Stakes.
