In this book he describes how he looked for and found a new home, and how he chose it* decorations. He discusses with others, and with the reader, the requirements of each room, and in such a way that the reader may easily in the work in hand. '
"Many leading exponents of modernism." says Mr. J'atmore. have made the mistake of breaking with tradition and the. past. . . . At this time we are bewildered by the new ape: w e are unsettled in our philosophies and thoughts, and this unrest is reflected in our furniture, none of which compares with the best exam pics produced by the French and English eighteenth-ccnturv schools. However, we have produced fabrics, lighting, carpets, china and "la=s that hold their own with the past, so let Us be patient ami persevere. . ." Tn short, while not forgetting the old, "so the. best of the new. This book, which is written so that it is interesting in itself, is an excellent guide.
