DETERMINED WOOER.
"Sit-Down" Technique Applied To Romance.
VIGIL BY APARTMENT.
NEW YORK, February 4. • A telegram from Excelsior Springs, Missouri, says a new "sit-down" technique has been applied to romance. Harold Hulen, aged 30, a salesman, is! keeping vigil in the lobby of an apartment licuse seated oil an inflated rubber cushion and chained and padlocked to the radiator, vowing not to leave until Florence Hurlbut, aged 20, a resident of the apartment, consents to marry him. Hulen is plentifully supplied with food, romantic magazines and a pack of cards with which to play solitaire. He said he had been proposing to Miss Hurlbut twice a week for a year but she could not make up her mind. The deadlock was due to her ultimatum that she would give no answer until he left and his that he would stay until she did answer. The vigil has been maintained since Tuesday night. 1
