OYSTER TRADE AWARD.

INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. The industrial dispute between the Southland oyster trade workers and the Stewart Island Canneries Company, Limited, and oyster merchants of Southland was heard by a conciliation council yesterday. The industry has never had an award and the parties concerned were faced with many problems. Terms and conditions of work were tentatively agreed to, but finality could not be reached on the question of wages and the hearing was adjourned until Februiry 22.
