SALE OF CUSTOS.

SOLD TO AUSTRALIAN SPORTSMAN. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. When the three-year-old Custos came back to Riccartou, after racing at Trentham last month, it was decided to have him gelded and spelled tor several months before being got ready to race again next seaeon. Before these arrangements could be put into effect, however, there was a change of plans. An inquiry came for him from Australia, and when his owner, Mr. C. N. Draper, arrived in Christchurch to-day from Dunedin, the sale was finalised. The colt leaves tomorrow for Wellington, when he will be transferred to a steamer leaving for Melbourne. Custoe was a good two-year-old and he showed useful form in Australia, early this season, though he has not done so well since his return to the Dominion.
