STUART DEMPSTER'S CLUB.

PROPOSED CLOSING DOWN. LONDON, January 31. At the emergency meeting of the Leicestershire Cricket Club (of which Stuart Dempster, N.Z.7 is captain), it was disclosed that promises of donations of £3000 had been received, that the club carried on for three years. Mr. W. L. Everard. president, said the club must have £5000 to continue for the, specified time. The meeting adjourned for a fortnight to ascertain if it would be possible to raise the additional funds.
