Mr. Maurice Fell, headmaster of St. George's School, Wanganui, is at the Station Hotel. Mr. H. T. Gibson, of St. Stephen's Avenue. Parnell, president of the Masonic Institute, has left on a two weeks' visit to the South Island. Mr. H. G. Horner, of Sydney, manager of the Xew South Wales division of the Australian Broadcasting Commission, is at the Station Hotel. Mr. J. R. Savory, a life member of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta Committee, and donor of the Savory Cup, left by the Niagara last night on his return to San Francisco. The Hon. F. R. Charlton, Commissioner of Lands, and member of the Legislative Council in Fiji, left by the Niagara for Suva last night, after a holiday and business visit to Auckland. Mr. J. Kennedy has been appointed deputv-registrar of the Supreme Court and assistant-clerk of the Magistrate's Court at Hamilton, in succession to Mr. P. D. Leahy, who has been transferred to Christchurch. Mr. A. \V. MeXicol, general manager for Australia and Xew Zealand of the Union Bank of Australia, Limited, who has been visiting the bank's branches in the South Island, will leave Wellington for the North to-morrow.
Dr. E. Munch-Petcrson, bacteriologist of the (lovernnient serum laboratory, j Melbourne, ami Mr. S. E. Vasey, of the engineeiing deiiartuient, Melbourne University, were recent visitors to the Miism'v Agricultural College. Mr. B. M. Wihnshurst has been appointed town clerk of the Upper Hutt borough by the borough council, in succession to" Mr. R. C. Major, who has been appointed town clerk at Asliburton. Mr. Wilnishurst is at present assistanttown clerk at Stratford. Mr. K. K. Lutrell, secretary of the Canterbury Cricket Association, has been appointed temporarily to carry on the duties of the late Mr. W. H. Winsor as secretary of the Xew Zealand Cricket Council. A permanent appointment cannot be made until the annual meeting of the Xew Zealand Association in November. Mr. Arthur E. R. Gilligan, captain of the English cricket eleven to Australia in 1924-25, has arrived in Christchurch, and is staying with Mr. Arthur Sims. Opawa. Before he returns to the North Island in a fortnight to stay with his brother. Mr. Frank Gilligan, headmaster of the Wanganui Collegiate School. Mr. Gilligan will visit Mount Cook and the south.
