EVELYN de LACY GOES DOWN. BRISBANE, January 26. The United States and Olympic champion swimmer J. Medica easily won the 800 metres free-style event at the national swimming championships last night. Medica's time, 10.35 4-5| is 2 l-5s better than Boy Charlton's Australian record time. Medica beat his nearest rival R. Biddulph (New South Wales) by 17 yards, with H. Nankerville (West Australia) third. The -WO metres free-style ladies' championship of Australia resulted:—Miss 1). Green (West Australia), 1; Miss Evelyn de Lacy (West Australia), 2; Miss I. Tubman (Queensland), 3. Won by 15yds. Time, 5.45 3-5, which is 2 2-5s better than Miss de Lacy's record, created last season.
