CYCLING.

GLOUCESTER CXTJB. BROWN AND BICKNELL VICTORS. As a result of recent heavy rains and drying winds following, the Gloucester Cycle Club's track at Gloucester Park. Onehunga, was in fine condition on Wednesday evening last. The first race was the half mile. Frank Brown, off 60yds, and Bill Bieknell, oif 30yds, were soon pacing it out together before the first lap was completed. In the second lap the back-markers' pace was beginning to tell, when Jack Cooper made use of his wellknown sprint and left the other comarkers, -but they were 60on tailing him up. The final sprint for the finishing line resulted in a win for Brown, with Bieknell following close. ' Cooper was a length away. Time 1.5. In the one mile the field was ■ soon bunched. J. Sheehan, scr, and J. Bieknell, scr, were pedalling very fast and looked like winning all the way. However, F. Brown kept with them. This rider is showing promising form at present. The race ended with a victory for Jack Bieknell, who put,in a great sprint entering the straight. Frank Brown iva6 a length away and Paddy Sheehan the same distance back. Time 2.30.
