VISITOR'S TRIBUTE.

Dairying Methods in New Zealand Compared.

AN AUSTRALIAN'S ANALYSIS

(Received 0.30 a.m.)

SYDNEY, this day. Mr. H. J. Bate, member of the State Legislative Assembly, has returned from New Zealand after a through investigation of dairying. He will make a special report to the Premier, Mr. B. S. Stevens, on his observations. Mr. Bate, in the course of an interview, made interesting comparisons in the dairying methods of New Zealand and Australia. .

He said he was convinced that there was scope in Australia for tremendous development, but he was afraid there was high wastage of animals in the Dominion, due to the tremendous strain placed upon cows to ensure the maximum production.

He paid a tribute to New Zealand dairymen, who worked very hard, very methodically and employed most up-to-date ideas all the year round.
