Christmas Eve, Mrs. John Stalhvorthy, widow of tho late Mr. John' ; Stallworthy,-who .was a well known Northern Wairoa resident arid a.former proprietor of the."Wairoa Bell" and> the "Northern' AdveTtiser," has a proud record of having 100 descendants living. The 100 th, a grandson, was horn at Ngaruawahia on 'New Year's Day. , ■-.:'.■•. Mrs. Stallworthy, who takes an active interest .in local affairs and in the work of the Methodist Church, has for some years lived with ;her„sqn, -Mr. George Stallworthy, at Aratapu, where 'she 13 proud of her little , garden ; plots. ". ;■ Arriving in New Zealand ; in" September, 1873; :by :thc same ship? the .City of Auckland, Mr. and Mrs.' Stallworthy were married. at Whangaroa. on Januavy 28, 1873, their wedding .being, the first of two white people to be' celebrated in Whangaroa; They arrived'- at" Aratapu in 1880, where Mrs. Stallworthy has resided ever since, .v '■.'..., .'.'", Mrs; Stallworthy is represented by five generations. Her 100 descendants living comprise eight children, 41 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.' Her own family is as : follows:— : Mrs. .E. • M.
