ENGLISH SIRE PURCHASED.
SILVERSTEAD FOR AUSTRALIA. LONDON, December 31. The British Bloodstock Agency has bought for an unnamed Australian purchaser the sire Silverstead. who was second in the Coronation Cup in 1928 Since then hi has been standing at the Scaltback Stud, Newmarket. His progenv won eight races in 1936. Silverstead is a 12-year-old horse by Son-in-Law from Demurrage, who also produced Silvermere, winner in 1932 of the Ascot Gold Vase. Silverstead won five races and stakes totalling £3322. His dam i« by Cyllene. His fee for the 1936 season was £25.
