ANGLERS DISAPPOINTED.

FLOODS IN TATJPO AREA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ' TURAXGI, Friday. Four days of almost continuous rain have completely spoiled Xew Year holiday fishing in the Tongariro River, within reach of which unusually large numbers of anglers and other visitors have been encamped in lodges and tents for a week past. The river was fishable until the middle of the week, but since then has been in flood and very discoloured. Anglers who braved theweather to fish from the lake shore have made moderate catches with the fly, but rain ly»s kept the majority in camp and has discouraged trolling on the lake. The conditions showed no sign of improvement on New Year's Day, but it is expected fishing will be possible in the river about two days after the rain ceases.
