CHRISTMAS DANCE.

NAVY LEAGUE GIRLS. Yuletide holly, gaily coloured Chinese lanterns and purple, green and tangerine streamers provided colourful decorations for the Christmas dance organised by the girls' branch of the Navy League last evening. Over the door of the Catholic Women's League rooms, where the function was held, was suspended a large green and scarlet bell to welcome the dancers. The rooms were also adorned with tiger lilies and grey-green hydrangeas, and the distribution of caps and balloons added to the evening's enjoyment.

The president of the branch, Mrs. M. R. Sliera, received the guests wearing a frock of black georgette relieved with searlet. Committee members present were: Miss Kitty Brown (honorary secretary), who wore a frock of cascade green flat crepe with a white ostrich plume; Miss N. Cashin, green and red floral taffeta; Miss E. Gerrard, white crepe suede; Miss E. Lintott, white organza relieved with scarlet; Miss J. Nicholls, peach pink Chantilly lace; Miss B. Roberts, Marina blue marocain and silver.

Among others present were: Miss Joyce Llovd, who wore sage green georgette; Miss Rene McCarthy, dawn pink fli./al chiffon; Miss Cherry Nesbitt, white moire taffeta; Miss D. McMaster, floral flat crepe; Miss D. Lyon, pastel pink Chantilly lace; Miss Violet Williams, black crepe suede; Miss J. Parsons, water lily green lace; Miss Harriet Joyce, orange and blue floral ninon; Miss Mona Cashin, scarlet frilled taffeta; Miss D. Aughton, shell pink suede; Miss A. Mahon, apricot crepe suede* and silver lame; Miss Irene Lees, silver souple satin; Miss Joan Plant, midnight blue crepe suzette; Miss M. Home, powder blue floral georgette; Miss M. James, daffodil crepe suede; Miss J. Shortt, Arabian yellow crepe; Miss B. Ensoll, midnight blue pleated georgette; Miss T. Osborne, powder blue printed linen; Miss P. Hewett, lemon frilled organdie; Miss Evelyn Jones, white georgette threaded with silver; Miss. M. McMaster, black and red floral crepe; Miss Margaret Smith, white floral georgette; Miss E. Mahon, peach pink crepe; Miss N. Hodson, sunset red suede; Miss R. Aughton, black ring velvet; Miss D. Wright, white diagonal crepe; Miss B. Lund, orange floral chiffon; Miss Doreen Harding, black and floral flat crepe; Miss F. Benson, sapphire quilted taffeta.
