THE MONTH'S ACTIVITIES. The president, Mrs. J. C. Allan, presided at the monthly meeting of the Plunket Society, held yesterday, and extended a welcome to Mrs. David Nathan, who recently returned from England. There were present Mesdames 11. Campbell, D. Ogilvie, D. Nathan, W. H. Worrall, T. C. Webb, R. B. Cruickshank, E. J. Wilkinson, L. C. H. Dawson, -H. 0. Wiles, H. R. Kirker, D. Poison, E. Richmond, L. J. Shrubsall, A. Donald, R. W. Bissett (Onehunga), A. Campbell (Northcote), N. Campbell I (Birkenhead), J. Mclvor, H. E. Turner, T. W. Nield (Otahuhu), E. Spring, H. Law (Ellerslie), E. G. Whitley (Devonport) . The figures for the district work for the month showed that there had been 106 new baby cases, 892 visits to homes and 7609 visitors to the various offices. Special attention had been given to the weighing and measuring of older children during the month and it was noticed that the majority of the children were above the average of the existing "height-weight-age" chart. In the pre-natal department, 28 expectant mothers had been seen for the first time, 176 return visits had been paid to the department and 162 mothers were under supervision. Sister E. Campbell read the report of the Truby Kinjr Karitane Hospital. Seven mothers and 15 babies had been admitted to the hospital during November. Donations to Karitane were received from the Pfanklin, Taumarunui and Thames branches of the society. It was expected that the proceeds from the nurses' fair would amount to approximately £65. This money ia to be expended in the purchase of demoni stration material which will be of great | assistance to the nurses in the teaching ' of molhercraft.
