COLOMBO AND CALCUTTA. At the usual weekly sale of Ceylon tea held at Colombo on the Bth instant, tiie quantity placed under offer at the auction amounted to 1,750,0001b. Quality showed a general improvement oil all grades, with the market generally quoted at firm rates. Next week's sale is expected to total 1,950,0001b. At the sale of Indian tea held at Calcutta oil the 17tli instant the quantity placed under offer amounted to 2,000,0001b. Quality of Dooars was maintained, but Assams showed a slight falling off. At the sale market quotations ruled strong to dearer.
