To develop and maintain a figure that pleases is a matter, in the first place, of knowledge, and to kelp all its readers in their natural desire to look their best the "Xew Zealand Woman's Weekly" has had prepared a special course of exercises which will enable every reader to attain that end. These exercises are quite easy and pleasant to do, and the series of articles, which begins in this issue, is illustrated by specially posed photographs. The film pages arc of particular interest this week. "Unlucky in Xove" tells the story of Jean Harlow's three matrimonial disappointments, and another page describes the fascinating work which is done by the, men who plan and design the sets for modern iilms. Molly Castle's round-the-world article comes from Moscow, and is full of interesting sidelights on life in- Sovietland. "Northern Wonderland" describes a first visit to the charm and beauties of our own winterless North, and another special article relates the extraordinary story of a strange community, who live within sight of the skyscrapers of New York. Among the practical pages, "That Touch with Flowers" is timely advice, in view of coming Christmas decorations, and the cooking special is "Some New Recipes for Holiday Catering." There are eight free patterns, of which! readers have the choice of any one.
