ANCIENT SKULL.

WOMAN WHO LIVED IN 200 A.D

MUSEUM ACQUISITION.

Completing the series of exhibits showing the development of the physical characteristics of mankind in general and of the British people in particular, the Auckland War Memorial Museum has received from Dr. G. B. Palmer, of Auckland, a typical RomanoBritish skull found in a. cemetery just outside the old Roman camp at Dorchester, near Oxford. The skull is that of a woman, about 25 years old, who lived about 200 A.D., and was, as the shape of her head shows, of mixed Roman and British blood.

Another interesting recent acquisition is a fine collection of shells and corals from Hiiymaii Island, In the Great Barrier Reef, presented by Mr. Robert Sanders, of Auckland.
