AWATEA FOR SYDNEY, 5 P.M. berths all occupied. HORORATA AND SYDNEY MARU. The Union Company's express passenger steamer Awatea arrived at 8.0 a,m°, to-day, after a smart run up the coast from Wellington of 31 hours 40 minutes. She berthed at the western side of the Queen's wharf, and will sail at 5 p.m. for Sydney with 300 passenoere. She is due at Sydney on Satur day morning, sailing the same evening for Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday morning. All the deep-water berths "are occupied by large oversea vessels, the number and their tonna<re being a record for some years. The Hororata arrived this morning from Napier to continue loading for London and West of England ports. She was unable to obtain a berth and anchored in the stream. She will move into a berth at the Central wharf in the morning. The Sydney Maru arrived from New riymouth this morning and berthed at Central wharf. She is loading for Japan, and sails at 5 p.m. on Friday, via Napier. Eastmoor arrived last evening from Java with raw sugar for Chelsea. (Spedding, Ltd.) Australind arrived from Bluff yesterday afternoon to load for New "iork, Boston and Halifax. (N.Z.S. Co.) Aorangi sailed shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday, in continuation of her voyage to Vancouver. (U.S.S. Co.) Kaiwarra sailed for Newcastle at 0 p.m. yesterday. She loads again next Monday for Auckland. (U.S.S. Co.) Gabriella left last night for Portland and Wellington. (U.S.S. Co.) H.M.S. Dunedin arrived shortly before nine o'clock this morning, after visiting Picton, Dunedin, Akaroa, Lyttclton and Wellington. (Naval Dept.) Norfolk is expected to complete discharging cargo from West of England ports and leave for "Wellington this afternoon. (N.Z.S. Co.) Tekoa, now discharging cargo from Montreal, will leave to-night for Wellington. (N.Z.S. Co.) Rangitata, loading for London at Prince's wharf, will leave for Wellington to-morrow evening. (N.Z.S. Co.) Westmoreland is loading for London and West of England ports, and will leave for Wellington 011 Saturday. (N.Z.S. Co.)
