HENDERSON TOWN BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Henderson Town Board was held last night, Mr. H. Norcross presiding over a full attendance. Parks.—The clerk reported that the authorised improvements to the Falls Park and Domain, including work on bathing sheds, children's swings and seating accommodation, were in progress. Valley Road. —Intimation was received from the Main Highways Council that the projected reconstruction of the portion of the Valley highway westward from the railway crossing should be held in abeyance, pending further, consideration by the Government Department of plans to deviate the highway and eliminate the crossing. Speed Restrictions.- —The board approved the 'removal of the 30 miles per hour restriction from the 30 miles per hour limit on the Lincoln and Swanson main highways from its boundaries to the point of j intersection, the 30 m.p.h. signs to be erected north of the intersection. On the Valley main highway the restriction will be removed in the area from the [ western boundary to the railway crossing. Clean-up Week.—Of the tenders received for the disposal of refuse during a clean-up week, that of Mr. T. Hambrook was successful. Refuse Disposal.—To obviate the necessity of excavating for burying refuse, the foreman was instructed to clear a track to a suitable bank for tipping six chains ii.-to the reserve on the western boundary from the Valley Road. The clearing of an area on the sanitation dump continuing the present disposal ground on a frontage of 30 yards to a depth of 50 yards was authorised. Local Authorities.—A copy of the bill introduced by the Hon. W. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, providing for the amalgamation of certain local authorities, was received. Detailed consideration of the matter was deferred to a special meeting to be arranged for the purpose.
