PREMIER SUED.

AN INGENIOUS PEASANT.

TOKYO. Genya Nakata, a peasant of Tochigi Prefecture, discovered a novel means of combating the delays of bureaucracy. He has formally filed a suit against Premier Hirota for the return of 32 sen (about fivepence), which, he asserts, he had spent in writing unanswered letters to the Premier in connection with a petition for a grant of land belonging to the Imperial Household.

The filing of the suit caused an extra expense of one yen and 15 sen, but Mr. Nakata doubtless considers the attendant publicity cheap at the price.

His case has been promised swift con sideration.
